09/16 “We had an absolutely wonderful few days at the lodge. It really is getting away from it all, and I think having no wifi really helps with being able to enjoy the peace and tranquility! We drove up to the cairngorm reindeer centre and the steam railway at bridge of garten-which were both fantastic days out! The lodge is 4* with a well kittens out kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda with our beers watching the sun set!”
09/16 “The Glenlivet view lodge is located a few miles north of the Cairngorms Nationalpark. It is a good startingpoint for visiting the many destilleries at Speyside and going for hiking in the Nationalpark. What is missing a bit is, that there is no direct access to a circuitwalk close by reachable by foot. Which means you have to go to all activities by car or bike. But due to this fact the sorroundings of the lodge is very quite. The Lodge is very well equipped even some boardgames are provided!”
08/16 “The lodge is perfect if you’re looking to runaway from the noisy environments. The area is so peaceful and calming that you get a great rest and the view is amazing. The lodge is larger than we expected and it’s of a high standard, with great decor and comfortable beds. The host was easy to contact and provided us a list of local events that were happening at the time”
08/16 “Beautiful lodge, tastefully decorated and more than adequately equipped. Every detail thought off, will definitely be back. Surrounding area superb, the cairn gorm national park..glen livit estate..lots of castles and cathedral..lochs..beaches, what’s not to love!”
04/16 “Glen Livet View had everything that we needed for a perfect stay in the Cairngorms. Really well presented (some really nice touches) and a nice spot to sit on the veranda in the evenings watching the sun go down. Visited by the brown hare everyday, saw roe deer and red squirrels around the lodge.
Also close to some great walks around the Glen Livet Estate.”
09/15 “Had a very pleasant stay. Lodge is cosy and well equipped. Few ornaments makes it very homely rather than sparse holiday rental. It is remote but roads were very quite to get around and lots of places within easy reach to visit during the day. In the evening we enjoyed view from large picture window.
Visited Glenlivet distillery, Moray coast, Dufftown and Tomintoul. We received a warm welcome everywhere we went”
08/15 “A beautiful part of Scotland. A wonderful Lodge with a good range of amenities to make your stay an enjoyable one. We arrived after a long journey from Yorkshire where we found that the owners had provided a small amount of provisions, a welcome sight as we didn’t want to go to the shops that evening. The views from the French doors were amazing to wake up to but came alive for me with a different sunset each night. Only downside were the midges so unable to have the nightcap on the veranda to fully enjoy. Due to that we we made most of the Moray coastline with long sandy beaches for our long walks and amateur photography. All in all a very relaxing holiday to recharge the batteries.”
04/15 “Wife and I spent three nights here. I say ‘little’, but actually we could have brought two of the children and easily had enough space to be comfortable. Very well-appointed lodge with good cooking facilities and a nice bathroom. Beds were comfy and everything was very clean. Views from the lodge are lovely. Would definitely come back here.”
03/15 “This was my 2nd visit and as before, loved the peace, stunning scenery and the wonderful area.
The lodge is very well-equipped with all home comforts and everything we needed.
The view is stunning and there are plenty of attractions within a short drive – we had a day at the coast, a trawl around the many antique shops and distilleries, a few visits to local hostelries… lovely!
The wildlife is a joy- we had buzzards flying low over the garden, a stoat playing on the snow-covered lawn and just up the road from the lodge, a pine marten.
As I have some mobility issues, it’s easy for me to have everything on one level. There are 3 steps up to the front door and to use the shower, I had to climb into the bath, but other than this, nothing to worry about.
I will be going back next year,”
10/14 “I can absolutely recommend this little highland gem. Myself and my partner had a lovely ‘get away from it all’ stay, in this comfy log cabin. It was a perfect retreat to unwind, take in the gorgeous view from the living room and just relax. The cabin amenities were perfect for our stay, it was warm, clean and has a well equipped kitchen. The location is very peaceful however the cabin is just a short drive from local shops and attractions so its easy to stock up and have a day out.
We will go back for longer next time.”
10/14 “Booking was simple and our questions answered pleasantly and promptly.
The lodge is clean with everything you need when staying away from home. We did get a bit hooked on the view through the double doors – you can see the weather coming and going, and if you don’t like the view, wait ten minutes, it will change!
The location is remote, but we knew that so it came as no surprise. That we had no internet and patchy mobile phone signals was, believe it or not, a bonus. There are places where you can get away from it all, and times when you should.
We used the lodge as a base to explore the mountains and coastline of this amazing part of the UK. Yes – in the heart of the distillery trail we felt obliged to visit one or two of these as well.
If you need to stock up on foodstuff then Elgin has a full range of supermarkets to chose from and oddly enough the cheapest (that we found) place to buy single malt whisky is at The Buccaneer filling station!
The local pub “The Croft” is friendly and inviting and also does excellent meals – well worth dropping in.
We enjoyed an excellent, hassle free break. Our only minor thought was that perhaps something needs to be done with the pathway leading to the front door, but this would not stop us going again as I fully expect we will.”
09/14 “Worth the journey to stay in this wonderful area ~ the accommodation was spotless , warm , comfortable ~ a home from home . The views and wild life amongst such tranquillity make it pretty unique . The extras provided by the owner added that personal touch and were very much appreciated . If we are able to book this again , we would need at least a week as there is so much to do there.”
09/14 “We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was perfect, very neat, and had everything one would need. We will surely recommend your cottage to friends. We would like to thank you once again for an awesome stay at your place.”
08/14 “We stayed here for three days in late August, and loved it. The area is completely peaceful, with no disturbance from neighbouring cottages or the world outside.
The cottage is small but well-appointed, with cosy bedrooms and a well-provided kitchen. It is kept in immaculate condition and stayed warm during bad weather. The living room has a large picture window with beautiful views of the Cairngorms (and some local wildlife), and a deck outside for summer evenings.
Definitely recommended for a short break or as a base for visiting the nearby area.”
08/14 “a great place to stay and the lodge was everything you would want in the value of the break. Some great scenery in and around the place towns were easy to get to. I will be returning in the future.”
08/14 “Just want to say your lodge is fantastic! We had a great time despite the weather being so changeable. Lodge is so nice and it’s a very peaceful beautiful area. Lodge very cosy and homely too with all mod cons! Will definitely be back and will definitely recommend to others.”
07/14 “We had a lovely stay and thought the lodge was perfect. We baked and cooked a lot and found the kitchen very well equipped. The decoration was lovely and the whole place very comfortable.”
07/14 “Just wanted to say thank you. We have taken some of your cards as we own a pub so will be letting everyone know how lovely our stay was. We had a friend from L.A. and he had just the best time. Such a lovely part of the country with your lodge the icing on the cake. Thank you so much again for a great few days.”
04/14 “We have now returned from our break at the lodge. We had a nice time and enjoyed the peaceful location and cosy lodge. The view is lovely.”
03/14 “I travelled with my 89 year-old mother and we both loved it.
The lodge has all mod cons and is very comfortable and peaceful.
Although ideal as a break away from it all, it’s within easy travelling distance of so many fabulous places – including lots of distilleries, beaches and stunning scenery.”
