Mountain bikers can enjoy a network of waymarked cross country cycle trails that have opportunities for all abilities. One even climbs to the summit of Cairn Diamh offering a stunning panorama of the Cairngorms. Most routes combine “off road” sections (forest roads, farm roads and hill tracks) linked by quiet public roads and are, for the most part, only suitable for all terrain “mountain” bikes as they can be rough, stony and muddy.
Free maps from the Glenlivet Estate Office give full details of all cross country mountain bike trails on the estate. In 2014 new trails were opened to cater for cyclists of all abilities. Read more about Glenlivet Estate’s Cycle Network here
Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 Sheet No 36 and parts of sheet 37 will be helpful and show most of the roads, paths and tracks used.
